Donna Stain is an artist, designer, author, stylist, teacher, and botanical wrangler.
During 25 years abroad in London, New York, and Barcelona, Donna worked with renowned English floral designer Jane Packer Flowers in London as florist, teacher, customer service trainer and store manager, served as head floral designer for Hotel Arts, Ritz Carlton for 18 years, and acted as an ambassador for staging floral scenography across Ritz Carlton hotels in Europe and Asia. She also executed event decor and weekly installations for luxury brands such as Audemars Piguet and collaborated on an array of projects, events, and editorial concepts with diverse clients.
In 2023, Donna returned to Australia with a focused ethos: curating sustainable arrangements, styling and creations in collaboration with local growers, & clients whilst honouring the generosity of nature.
“"Wrapped in so so so much plastic, and with flowers and materials often traveling many miles before reaching my hands, it dawned on me just how wasteful the floral and styling industries could be. That’s not what I’m about as a nature lover.”
Her distinctive botanical designs reflect the landscapes of her current surroundings on Bundjalung country in Northern NSW. Over time, Donna’s work has evolved to include more expansive forms - botanical orbs and obelisks that highlight the innate beauty of the living world. These creations serve as offerings to place, the heavens, and the earth, in reverence to the connection between them.
With over 35 years of experience in the ever-evolving floral & design industry, Donna’s vast and diverse expertise allows her to bring a unique perspective to every project and collaboration, regardless of its size or scope. Her passion, botanical & design knowledge, her keen eye for beauty & attention to detail shine through in all her work, while always allowing the natural world to take center stage.
